Using one resister on common cathode

I'm designing a small Lixie (an edge lit nixie tube alternative)

free netflix and I was thinking I could put the resistor on the common cathode and only use one.

tech news You normally would give each led it's own resistor to avoid current drop when multiple leds are on, but only one will ever be on at a time so it's fine, right? Am I crazy?
