This circuit is capable of generating a constant 13V from an input from a solar panel of 5V-17V (or more). There is also an extra 5V output for logic circuits (IE some sort of embedded control system). Design components and parameters were found using the Boost Converter - Component Calculator.

Scientists have begun using self-replicating rapid prototyper (RepRap) 3-D printers to manufacture open source digital designs of scientific equipment. This approach is refined here to develop a novel instrument capable of performing automated large-area four-point probe measurements. The designs for conversion of a RepRap 3-D printer to a 2-D open source four-point probe (OS4PP) measurement device are detailed for the mechanical and electrical systems. Free and open source software and firmware are developed to operate the tool.

This design is a simplified H-bridge power inverter. It is completely open loop - there is no voltage or current control. The part count is as minimal as possible, and is intended to act as a template for more complex designs.

The design is not fully routed because some traces must be 8mm - which is impossible to route given DIY design techniques. In order to get around that, wire can be soldered underneath the board in place of traces.

The code has not been written fro the design. It may closely follow the attached Octave script for logic.
